We built Calibur on the idea that your work should speak for itself. That means your data stays yours. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Who We Are
Calibur ("Calibur," "we," "us," or "our") is a professional skills assessment platform. We operate the website and application available at calibur-labs.com and related subdomains (collectively, the "Platform").
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information about you when you use the Platform. It applies to all users, including individuals creating personal profiles and any hiring partners or enterprise clients accessing the Platform.

Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information generated by your use of the Platform, and information from third-party services where applicable.

How We Use Your Information
We use your information only for the purposes listed below. We do not use your data in ways unrelated to operating and improving the Platform.
- To operate the Platform: creating and managing your account, processing challenge submissions, generating and displaying scores, ratings, and leaderboards, and running Campus Live events
- To score your work: processing your challenge responses, assessment answers, and portfolio submissions through our AI-enabled scoring algorithm to generate scores and written feedback, and using your results to generate summaries of your profile
- To improve the Platform: using submissions, scores, and feedback internally to train and calibrate our scoring algorithm, analyzing usage patterns, and identifying bugs and areas for improvement. Analytics data is used only internally, to improve the product
- To communicate with you: sending account-related emails, responding to support requests, notifying you of policy changes
- To maintain integrity: detecting and investigating suspected violations of our platform rules, reviewing submissions for scoring quality assurance
- To display your public profile: showing your scores, rankings, and professional background on your public profile page as you have configured
- To comply with legal obligations: responding to lawful requests from authorities, enforcing our Terms and Conditions
Where we rely on your consent as the basis for processing, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- On your public profile, as you choose: every account has a public profile page that anyone with the link can view, including people who are not signed in. Your name, headline, rating, tier, and pillar scores always appear on it. Other sections can be shown or hidden in your settings.
- With other users: leaderboards show your rank and scores under an anonymous label unless you choose to show your name. Connections, comments, reactions, and feed posts you choose to share are visible to other users. At a Campus Live event, your first name, last initial, and ranking are shown on the presenter's screen.
- With service providers: we use third-party vendors who process data on our behalf to provide their services to us, and we share with each only what it needs to do that. They are listed below.
- With hiring partners (if applicable): if you opt into visibility to employer or recruiting partners, your public profile data may be surfaced to those parties. This is always opt-in and clearly disclosed at the time of enrollment.
- For legal compliance: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Calibur, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer: if Calibur is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users in advance of any such change.
Our current service providers are:
- Supabase: database, account authentication, account emails, and file storage
- Vercel: website hosting and Vercel Analytics
- Anthropic: AI models used by our scoring algorithm to score submissions and generate feedback and profile summaries
- PostHog: product analytics and session replay, for internal use only
- Google: Google Sheets, where waitlist sign-ups and feedback survey responses are recorded
- LinkedIn: sign-in used to verify your name, only if you choose to connect it
Data Retention
We retain your personal information until you delete your account or ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it longer to comply with legal obligations.
- Account and profile data are retained until you delete your account or request deletion
- Challenge submissions and scores are retained until you delete your account or request deletion, and while retained may be used internally to train and improve our scoring algorithm. If you delete your account, your profile, submissions, and scores are deleted from our database
- Uploaded files, such as profile photos and portfolio files, are retained after you delete your account. Contact us if you want them deleted
- Feedback survey responses (including the email address submitted with them) and waitlist sign-ups are kept separately from your account and are retained after you delete it. Contact us if you want them deleted
- Usage and analytics data is retained until you request deletion, subject to the retention limits of our analytics providers
- Communications are retained until you ask us to delete them
You can delete your account yourself at any time from your account settings, or ask us to do it. See Section 6 for how to exercise this right.
Your Rights and Choices
You have meaningful control over your data on Calibur. Depending on your location, you may have additional legal rights under applicable privacy law.

Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate and improve the Platform. Cookies are small text files placed on your device that help us recognize you across sessions and understand how you use the Platform.
- Essential cookies: required for the Platform to function, including keeping you logged in, maintaining session state, remembering that you have entered a beta access code, and limiting each device to one entry in a Campus Live event. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics: PostHog uses a cookie and your browser's local storage to recognize your device across visits, records pages you view and actions you take, and may record your sessions (session replay) so we can see where friction occurs. When you are signed in, this activity is linked to your account and email address. PostHog data is sent through our own domain. We also use Vercel Analytics to count page views. Analytics data is used only internally to improve the product, never for advertising.
- Preferences: your browser's local storage remembers settings such as light or dark mode and your practice progress.
We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent the Platform from functioning correctly.
Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS
- Access controls limiting who within Calibur can access personal data
- Regular review of data handling practices and third-party vendor security
- Secure infrastructure through our hosting provider
No system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at info@calibur-labs.com.
Children's Privacy
Calibur is intended for professional use by adults. The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a minor has created an account on our Platform, please contact us at info@calibur-labs.com.
Changes and Contact
Policy Updates. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Platform before the changes take effect.
Governing Law. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. For users located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR where required.
